I was raised in Miami in the early 90s, born to Dominican parents who came to this country chasing opportunity in the early 80s. I grew up between Little Haiti and Little Havana—areas many people would label as rough, but to me, it was home. It was where I learned resilience, awareness, and most importantly, purpose.
As a kid, I had a habit that drove my parents crazy—I kept bringing stray pitbulls home. Dogs no one wanted. Dogs that were hungry, misunderstood, and left behind. I’d hide them, feed them, talk to them, and teach them whatever I could. Looking back, I think my parents saw something in that. Instead of pushing me away from it, they understood it might be the very thing that kept me grounded and off the streets.
Those dogs became my responsibility and my outlet. I didn’t just keep them—I found them homes. Sometimes it was a neighbor looking for protection after break-ins, other times it was someone lonely who just needed a companion. Watching a dog go from surviving on the streets to having a purpose, a home, and someone who cared—that did something to me. It gave me a sense of contribution, not just to the dog, but to the people around me too.
From that point on, I was never without a dog by my side. Even now, I can’t remember a time in my life without a loyal Bully next to me. Everything I’ve learned didn’t come from books or classrooms—it came from experience. Trial and error. Paying attention. Learning from each dog, and applying those lessons over time.
Every dog that’s come into my life has taught me something different—about behavior, structure, energy, and trust. I raised these dogs in a full household while raising five kids of my own—kids who are now adults themselves. Balancing family life, responsibility, and strong, well-behaved dogs gave me real-world experience that goes far beyond theory. It’s been hands-on, every day, in real environments—not perfect setups, but real life.
Today, I’ve shifted my focus. After decades of raising, learning, and building, I now dedicate my time to teaching and educating others. I share what I’ve learned about proper care, nutrition, structure, and understanding the true nature of these dogs. My goal is simple—to help people raise strong, healthy, well-balanced Bullies while building a deeper bond and respect for the breed.
This hasn’t just been part of my life—it’s been my life. A real dog-eat-dog journey… in the best way possible.
